The Space in Time, 2020
Textile Installation: Domestic personal objects, recycled cotton, thread

This process based textile installation was created over lockdown, taking 100 hours . Sewing for up to 7 hours a day the work consisted of hand stitching my personal objects inside cocoons of white cotton, to become preserved over this surreal period. Through such a repetitive process I used this time in quarantine to transform my environment, in hope of being able to exhibit the space

No longer in use, they became ornaments, each one a capsule of the time I devoted to covering it. The outcome of the piece allows for an alien reality inside the space of a bedroom, a sense of a world in limbo.
